Heracles

The hero of heroes

Heracles

In the Greek mythology, Heracles ("glory though Hera") was the son of Zeus, through his affair with Queen Alcmene of Theben. He is also the great-grandson of the hero Perseus.
He was the greatest of all the Greek heroes, and is considered to be the greatest hero of all time.

The twelve labours

Heracles was hated by his stepmother Hera, who drove him mad so he killed his wife and children. As punishment for this, he had to carry out the twelve labours, under king Eurystheus.
